Football Crest Request

Hi lads, I live in shanghai, China. Me and some mates have started a football team and are looking to a crest together to put on our shirts.

We are all about playing some good footy, but also not taking it all too seriously. In fact, our captain chose the (clichéd) name: Norfolk Enchance. So, you can see that we don't take ourselves too seriously.

I've been toying around on a free online crest creator, but it has serious limitations - and i ain't no designer. PLUS the designs i've seen you guys come with are really impressive!

Here are some things that I would love to integrate/things to consider:

1. A football
2. Beer (bottle, pint etc) - something that could be embroidered easily into a proper badge
3. N.E.F.C (or maybe even Norfolk Enchance F.C./Football Club in full??)
4. Something that represents China - maybe the great wall wrapping around the ball/beer, or a dragon's head/body - this could be either be in the shield, either side of the beer/football or perhaps either side of the shield itself - like the two lions.
5. The shirt colours were out of our control - so at the very least, the primary colour is fixed.

Here are 2 that I put together. But, as you can see, they're quite basic and don't contain any references to China. Also, as i've said - the tools are very limited, so i can't do layering or place items outside the sheild etc.




These of course are only rough and quick designs I put together. With the limited tools, I could not really try/incorporate all the ideas I wanted. The colour is almost right - although I don't have the exact shirt colour with me (other than the above pic). I feel like N.E.F.C could be incorporated better. I like this one you created as far as colour pattern and club name integration:


I give you guys free creative license to do anything you want. change the badge, the items, the layout. As long as it holds the themes and colours. I only picked the yellow as a secondary colour because it seems to go okay with the light blue - but I am open to other colours.

Also, other things - like regerences to China I can't find visuals. But I think we all know a chinese dragon, or what the great wall looks like.

I do like the dragon image 'embracing'? the ball. Good idea. If I were to go with that idea and improve upon it with banners etc. where would you suggest the beer go?

By the way, I didn't know there was an online crest creator. Maybe you could advise other members here where they could find it?

I like the dragon as well - however I feel that design I supplied is very bland! I like the stripped blue pattern (and generally more colour) because our shirts are almost ALL white bar the tri-stripe on the shoulders.

Regardless, I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

I'm not sure how to integrate the beer into the dragon design. There's already a lot going on. The image I had in my mind was a bit like Birmingham FC - how it has a banner wrapping around the balls. However, in this case there would be a beer AND a football (instead of a globe and ball) with a basic representation of the great wall wrapping around them WITHIN a shield. Add some banners top and or bottom and bobs your uncle.

I have no idea how that would look and its far to complex for me to even conceive let alone DESIGN!

I stumbled across it via some extensive google searching. You need to join - but not as a paid member. After you've finished registering it will take you to a page which lists 'premium' payment options - but that's all they are - options. You can move on and do what you like (after you activate via an email).

The creator is found in the side menu under 'Manager Profiles'.

Perhaps the dragon and the beer could sit in different quadrants of a sheild - like in a family crest. Or maybe even either side of the shield - or perhaps above the shield with the banner floating infront of it??

Thanks for your hard work CP! The design looks great! You keep coming up with the goods!

Unfortunately I can't convince the rest of the team on the more creative dragon idea with banners..

- they are fixated on the beer theme + layout one of my other ideas:



They like the yellow as secondary also - but I am not 100% on how to use it...

So, i have tried use this design (with my limited tools) to work in the beer in a more subtle way:


Problems I am having are with centering, and general composition. Also white/black outlines being visible (i.e. on the stars at bottom and team name) as well as shading created by the 'crest generator' to make it look 3D. It's lighter in the top corner, then darker in the bottom corner. Also, there is a 'shine' line running diagonally through the middle. Great for digital or website - no so good for printing on a shirt...

I am also not happy with the 'jagged lines' present on the bottles.

I would really like to find a better way to work in the team name so it is integrated better. It looks very 'pasted on' right now.

I like the way you integrated the design listed in my first post - although I am not sure how much room that would leave for the other stuff.

If you have time (and the desire! :-) to look at this again I would really appreciate it.

Even if you don't really have time to look at creating a design using this format and picture/colour combination - I would really appreciate a proper digital version that is ok for printing.

Please feel free to have a play with it. I know there's a lot of room for work.

Also, how can I include '2009' or 'Est. 2009' or something like that into it? Maybe a very small banner across the bottom tip? or somewhere within the sheild?

Well here's a version of your one above. Don't know where you got your lion characters from so I improvised. I can reproduce them as long as they're not copyrighted.
PS: I found the lion, let me know if you want it changed.

That looks great CP! Thanks for looking at it again.

If possible, it would be great to see it with lions more similar to the original ones as well. i doubt they're copyright considering they're from a free badge maker from which you can save and use designs freely.
