Angry W3C Validation Problem!!!

Hi all,

I've got a major problem I'm hoping someone can help me with. I've come up with a css & xhtml strict valid site for myself. As soon as I put any sort of banner from affiliates on a page, the W3C validation site gives about 36 errors all to do with the banner code. I'd like to use the banners (we'd all like to earn a bit of money from our sites wouldn't we?), but at the same time I've spent too many hours coding the site to get rid of the valid code links.

I've spent even more hours googling for an answer and am at the end of my patience!!! Can ANYBODY help me??????

Thank you for any positive help on this subject.

Toz.

PS - The banners are all external links through an affiliate site for such sellers as Marks & Spencer, New Look, Topps Tiles etc so they're not 'dodgy' links!!!!

The world is give and take. To make money you have to break a few rules or go back to transitional as it allows deprecated elements in the markup. You didn't say if you were HTML 4.01 Strict or XHTML 1.0 Strict which has no legacy baggage ie., limited viewing. I am assuming you are using the latter. since the ads do not comply. If we all want to make a little extra money, code for yourself in strict. Code in transitional if you want to reach everybody out there.

Thanks ishkey, I've decided to go with the banners and take off the valid links at the bottom of the pages for now - if the banners don't bring anything in I'll remove them and go for the valid links again!!!

Many thanks for taking the time to reply.

Toz.
