It's be out there for a long time. Rivals those paid for programs. If you ever wanted to try 3d, but did not have the money or resources, then by all means get Blender. You don't need a super computer to run it. Uses less resources than PhotoShop. It has tons of tools so it may look a little scary.

Even if you do not use Blender it won't hurt to have Python. When installing it you can have it compiled for speed. If you write in Python you may not want this option.

I would love to do that 3D stuff but alas, I don't have the patience. Also looks like some heavy mathematics involved in the creating process which would definitely numb my lil' brain.
Hubby uses a 3D program to make trains although I'm not sure which program he has, I just know it wasn't cheap. I'll show him that Blender link, anything FREE is good!

Yea, I've tried blender...and completely failed..
And sense then, never tried it again.
