Volunteer Banner/Image

I promise...this is the last request for a while.


I am making a website for the Volunteers of our Fire Department. I am using the Charity Template and our site is currently at: http://smfdvol.site90.net/.

Basically I want to change the picture of the girl, and change the background color. The picture I am really hoping to use is: http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/q...ayTraining.jpg


If that in not able to fit or look right...then either http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/q...lwaysready.jpg OR http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/q...andburnBMP.jpgwill do.

You can keep the image the same size as the little girl one, or make it larger...it doesn't matter to me. I'm not sure what background color...just whatever looks best with the pictures. I want it to be smooth and simple yet engaging. I appreciate any help very much...thank you all!

I spent forever on photoshop trying to learn today I am kinda proud of myself. lol I have a long ways to go however. I'm not sure I like this much orange...but this is where i'm at:

Any advice/comments CP? Do you think I should use different colors.

note:
1. where it says " Support Your Volunteers by making........etc" on the main image I am going to be moving that...i know its hard to read where its at right now

2. I plan to change the navigation color from green...to well maybe orange?

I'm not the one to be asking about colour preferences. I still can't get the colours in my bathroom matching.

The photos you provided are too good to show just one so I blended 2 together. (Love the b & w one, their faces say it all!)
What do you think?

I like how they are blended...but they kinda look like they are burning to death :] hehe. Can we try just one? Or maybe two seperate ones and i can use the 2nd banner on another page (contact us..etc).

I tried on the site....www.smfdvol.site90.net but i think its too much orange. what do you think? I know you said your not big on the color matching...but does it appeal to your eyes?

If i´m allowed i would like to give my opinion on this one... Well regarding the banner, i think you should use te fiemans, or a diferent image related with "firefight" and not "fire".
The one you are using (although it has a fireman on the left edge) focuses the fire, and not the combat to fire.
The image should represent "man VS fire / man wins"...
Well, that´s just my opinion... and regarding the colours, i personally would use a black backgound and some glowing red/dark red and gray...
