Hey all, im currently working on a project called Bolted Bot. It's being made in 3d and i need a title logo made for it. To give you an idea of the style of the animation you can have a look at the preview below.

    YouTube - Bolted Bot Preview

    1) What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
Bolted Bot - The main robot's name is bolt bot. I would like the ed at the end of bolted to appear as if it has been added on extra.

    2) What is your website address (ex: http://site.com ; Site Name)?
    C.J Workshop

    3) Description of your website or business:
    Displays info on my films.

    4) Have you found any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey
the style you are looking for?
    No

    5) Requested size of your logo:
    Not bothered with the size.

    6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
    No.

    7) What logo styles do you like, textt only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
    Not too worried.

    8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
Silver and Red. Can add more too.

    9) What colors do you Proxy-Connection: keep-alive CacheProxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 ontrol: max-age=0 T want to see in your logo?
    Do not mind.

    10) Describe the target audience for your logo
The animation is planned to be a family film.

    11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
    The film is about robots.
Maybe the robot has been rebuilt.

    12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
    Website and on the animation.

    13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
    None.

    14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
    None.

If your logo has been chosen to be used , your desired name will appear in the credits of the animation and on the website.

    Thanks everyone for your time.

Really Nice Work jd132 love the bolt heads.
Thought I'd give it a shot, but my brain as disjointed as it is, just can't seem to disjoint the "ED" still trying some different ideas but not working. Maybe some more input would help cjworkshop.

    thanks guys
No not 6 months - 6 hours. Kinda got snowed in today - Atlanta GA has not seen measurable snow on Christmas day since the year 1860, we normally get dusting's.
But I think this one captures the essence of the metal and bolts better, though I used some rivets to hold the "ED" in place. Darn thing just doesn't want to say put.

Luv'in your work Mr ish, maybe 6hrs for you but for me would be 6 months.....

Oh no no the Bot is not mine it belongs to cjworkshop, I just clipped a still from his video to see the colors and style. Then used it in the graphic for a visual.
I think the right arm is part of a automated drill used to bolt, Bolt Bot together.
So now you can do it in less than 6 months. lol

One way - works good with Wacom tablet
Make a rough sketch on paper scan it into your computer.
Open it in your graphics program.
Use your pen tool with different widths and strokes, etc to create different shapes.
Join, intersect, slice or whatever to the shapes as needed.
Use pre shapes (circles, squares, stars) push pull them into the shape you need.
The usual shading, blurs and special effects.
Make lots of little parts in groups, put them together to make one graphic.

Thanks for that, never thought of doing the sketch for this, still learning the slice part, but I'll get there.

Just a little more on parts - after all this is a Post for a Graphic Logo not a tutorial.
    Hope cjworkshop doesn't mind.

Here are the parts to the my family portrait, very basic as you can see.
Circles turned into eclipses and triangles.
    parts.png

If you don't want to sketch and scan then find a pic you like, load it into your graphics program and do some tracing with the pen tool and try some basic shapes like the triangle for the beak and flippers like in the above graphic.
Just remember it's all an illusion to the eye. That's how we fool the brain.

Hey everyone, hope you all had a great christmas. I like this logo the most out of all of them. I think it follows of the style of the animation quite alot. I like the idea of the o's being bolts and the colors are spot on. I think there should be a little more detail on the bolts though. Maybe a hole to show the o more or just some other detail. I would love to use this one as the main title.

Thanks to everyone else who made one. They were really good too.

JD, the limage in the link below might be of help. For an 'indent' a simple inner bevel should do the trick.
Oops, just read you're using AI, are there similar stylings available in that?
