    Hi everyone,

I'm starting a welding/fabrication business and I need a logo to put on cards, invoices, and maybe a future website if we expand.

My company does mainly production welding/fabrication work on large orders of roadway lighting and electrical boxes.

This is a logo I drew a while ago, I would like the logo to look somthing along the lines of this:

Here are a few logos I really like:

    Haas logo:

Haas makes high speed machinery, The main thing I like about this logo is it looks fast, like the companys machines will be able to finish customers orders very fast.

    BAE logo:

BAE makes cutting edge drag racing engines, the things I like about this logo are the broken E and how the B and A are connected.

    What i'm looking for:

A serious logo that looks like our company is both cutting edge and fast. I like how the M and K are connected in my drawn logo and I also like the slanted letters. I would also like "Fabrication Specialties" under the logo. These are all just suggestions, you guys are the artists, use your best judgment on any of these.

Thanks soo much in advance if anyone can help me out with this.

    ishkey,

Thanks, that's nice but I was looking for something that looks more like the one I drew at the top with the slanted/extended letters if at all possible, and with just a plain white backround.

    Thanks for your help,
    Mike

Added a 'metal' texture and bevel to what I thought looked otherwise, too plain.
(reduced image shown on 3 different backgrounds colours.)

Dave - I really like the font you've used for the JMKE, what is it?

    corvertpea,

Wow, that's almost exactly what I was looking for. I like your additions of the bevel and adding color, but would it be much trouble to try a solid dark blue, dark red or maybe even silver or light gold color instead of the checkered pattern? Also with the text at the bottom could it be a little more towards the right? And maybe a little bolder, also the last word was specialties. This is almost dead on for what I need.

Thanks for your time and help,
    Mike

    Covertpea,

I spent some time making this, I hope you don't mind that I edited your work, but maybe this will help.

This is just about exactly what I want, If you could clean this up a bit I would really appreciate it, maybe straighten up the red lines and maybe add your idea of a bevel it would be perfect. I also like how you added a slight shadow on the MKE letters maybe that would look nice on the red border?

Thanks so much for all your help,
    Mike

Wow, it's been many a year since I was last called a 'girlie'!

C'mon Brian, use your imagination. I'm small, round and green.
And yes Dave, my hair colour has changed slightly. I'll have to fix that, blondes DO have more fun than greens.

    :p
