Mr. Admin... Is there a way of restricting 1st time posters from adding URL's? If so, it should severely cut down on those merely posting spam and bolting! I'm sure genuine posters requesting assistance wouldn't mind introducing themselves first before adding url's of their web sites or example pics they need help with. Whatcha think?
There is no build in feature that I know of that could do this. I would have to program/hack the script for that. Most spam posts get only 1 to 20 views before it's moved to the spam forum. What we need is more moderators to remove the spam as fast as possible. CovertPea I can promote you to moderator if you would like that.
Thanks Mimoun, I will take you up on the moderator offer. Being on the 'down-under' timezone I should be able to catch those early bird spammers. (better go dust off my lil' tin badge.) CP
We just auto moderate thread by new users that contain links. That way they have very little benefit from trying to spam us, and if they do, it is very easy to delete all posts as spam and ban them.
