Graphics DJ/HipHop Logo Please

Hi, my name's Jeremy... I was contracted by a friend to design a website for his brother who's an amateur music producer/DJ and my graphics designer quit a few hours ago and said he isn't going to finish the logo (and he's junked what he'd done thusfar), so now I'm stretched for time and seriously panicking that I'll be able to get this finished before Christmas, since it's my buddy's present to his brother. I have the actual SITE layout ready but, like I said, the logo needs to be done first.

I regret that I don't have the money to pay for a rush charge or any similar fees should they incur, at least not until after Christmas. I feel really stupid coming on here with like 6 posts asking people for a free logo banner before Christmas, I'm sorry for how stupid I must actually look to all of you but please try to understand my predicament. I promise that this will NOT be the last you see of me, I'll contribute whatever it takes back to the forums to show my gratitude.

I need it the size to be 900 wide x 250 tall please. No alternate sizes are necessary, this is only to be displayed on the website.

They are both copyrighted, I apologize. What I like about them in particular, and what I"m mainly going for is really hProxy-Connection: keep-alive

h-tech looking DJ equipment. I also like mixers, microphones, turntables, speakers, etc.

Text and image, text overlapping the image (which seems to span across the logo, try to make it appear like the equipment is seaProxy-Connection: keep-alive

Blacks, metallic silver, blues, reds

Nothing TOO dark or TOO light, if that isn't too vague (I apologize if it is)

I want a logo to stand out as that of a DJ, really communicate a love of music and the technology involved in recording/producing it, and a strong influence of rap/hip hop.

12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
Website only, as a 900 tall by 250 wide banner at the top.

13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
You might want to listen to his music to get an idea of his style, it's Myspace.com/TCGRecords . Note: I don't want the colors of the site, I'm just giving that as a source of his MUSICAL STYLE.

14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.

Thanks AGAIN, I don't have a ton of specifics (what I put down is all), so any ideas you've got, just roll with them, I trust your sense of aesthetics.

CP, that looks really, really cool! Maybe change the gradient for "beats" from rainbow to black and red if at all possible, but it's pretty good. 1970: I like it, but it doesn't really communicate the Audio/HipHop theme. I'm looking for stock images now and I'll have a few up soon but all in all great work, thank you so much both of you. You are LIFESAVERS for helping me out...

Excellent, excellent, FANTASTIC work you guys - thank you all SO MUCH. This means so much to me that you guys do it for free and all just to share your talents. Ozone, I really like the second one - the one with the headphones. Unless anyone else has any other ideas or designs, as of right now that one's my favorite.

Finally got it done

Original one is wider but due to forum size I have to keep to 700px.

 

Ooohh wow that one's pretty sweet. The only thing I see wrong is that you can see a straight line that doesn't mesh toward the top at the left by the back speaker, and maybe change the T (if you can, I don't know how you would go about doing that so it's fine if it's not possible or too hard), it looks a bit like a 4, but other than that it looks nice.

I really like Ozone's idea of a waveform in the picture, is there any way you could integrate something like that?

Yeah that straight line came in when I had to change the size for the forum but that's not actually there in the original and sure i'll change the 'T' I can see where you are coming from with that and yeah i'll add a sound wave in near to the back and post it up for you to see if it looks any good.

That is exactly what I'm looking for, if you don't mind I only have one more request for this template if it's not too much trouble. OVer the top can you put, as an overlay, the kind of equalizer bars (gradient from like gray to transparent?) similar to the ones in CovertPea's?
