Software Dreamweaver or MS Expression? (or even Frontpage?)

First, I just wanna say I am so happy I stumbled upon this site. So much information, samples, and community help. Thanks goes out to all those creating these fantastic templates for nubies to try their hand at website development.

I am trying to decide which software to get and use to update my horrible looking website. From reading other threads I get the impression that Dreamweaver is highly praised. But I see this MS Expression? Hows that?

I created my site years ago using Frontpage and must admit the reason I went with Frontpage is that I could see the website (how it would look) in design mode. I do not see that choice in Dreamweaver? I see the code tab and the design tab but when I click design I do not see it working with the template. But I do in Frontpage?! (hope I am making sense).

So what package do you guys like and why and how can I see my site in a type of edit/preview mode?

    thx

if you know html then try this free one you can see the fruits of your labor.

if you just want to let your creative juices flow, then it's a matter of price between the two you spoke of (FP is dead).
Just remember both use extra directories to store files created by them and the structure is something you need to get use to. Too many people do not understand or read what the programs do (DW or ExpWeb)and then ask really dumb questions as to how to make the program work.

So either you hard code or your program will code for you. (either/or)
The templates here are hard coded so you could use the free editor and see them very easy and learn the code very fast. The method I use. For alittle more money you could try Coffee Cup Html, cheap and lots of power.

Ah... very good. Been around I see :)

Thanks for the freeware suggestions. I'll probably drop the bucks for something a little more "WYSIWYG" (design mode). I'm up to my ears learning Gmax and XML coding for now. So I just want to know enuf HTML to get me in trouble (or hopefully get me out of it).

Taking one of the 'DJ' templates and customizing it for a flight simulation site (hence my username). So I am just reading through all the 'umpteen' threads here on "help me on everything" and "do it all for me" type threads. I'll try to hold off on those type requests until I have an actual issue. Just like Gmax, you have to struggle through it to get the concepts down and learn the software package of choice. No one can learn it for you (unless you pay 'em! :D)

If anyone else wants to chime in on whether they prefer MS Expression or Dreamwever I sure would like to here. Reading up on both and testing bot in 'trial mode' as which one I will feel more comfortable. One thing I noticed is Dreamweaver runs my laptop CPU always at 100%?!? Can't understand why.
