Hey people, Hope you are all well? I just stumbled upon this site (Getting British Business Online) recently and found it very very useful so thought i'de pass it on. It's a website (FOR UK ONLY I THINK) and you can get a free .co.uk domain and hosting for 2 years. The site has teamed up with Google and BT. Also there name won't be on the domain name. For example, if you sign up to webs you'll get your own name BUT .webs.com followed after it but this can just be your name and then .co.uk. Once the 2 years are over you just have to pay to re-new your domain which will only be a couple of pounds but until then it's comepletly free. You edit your website with Google Site so it's safe as well. But it's worth having a look at though. You can also join the BT Tradespace for free which will give you a profile and you can use it for your business for other people to see. Just like Facebook in other words but a bit different. Good Luck
Hi, I would recommend "Host Gator" because it's very cheap and reliable. Their support service is awesome. This company offers site building tools, application vault, web mail, antivirus, Php, MysQL ,e-commerce and hosts unlimited websites in one plan. Don't go for free web hosting. They are not reliable. Check it out here : (link removed)
Why would someone want to pay when as GG pointed out " you can get a free .co.uk domain and hosting for 2 years."
lol exactly that's the whole point....'FREE'....obvously it won't be good as normal hosting when you have to edit your website but you still get your own domain without the extra bit unlike other free hosting sites.
Sounds like a great idea to get into things not to mention the companies you are partnering up with. How the heck can you go wrong? You Brits get all the great stuff and don't tell me it's because the sun never sets on the British Empire.
Huh, good find. I watched the youtube video on that page, I'm not sure it is THAT usefull tbh. I mean, it really isn't expencive to get a domain and hosting, and you can do what ever you want with it then. On that, you can only change content and have to stick to their predefined templates. Mebe for veh small, home business'....
Yeah if it's some big venture then yeah going for a professional one is the option but this is for anyone that finds it good and wants to use it because i've seen many people that are looking for websites to be made and don't want to spend big money because there not looking to far ahead with the site or for those non-profit organisations etc but the BT Tradespace is helpful though..well to me it is lol
