HTML Making a site search work

Hello, I am using the snowmobile template and would like to make the site search work. I have no idea how to go about this and have tried googling search code, but no dice. Could anyone please help?

Also I added a highlighting feature to the navigation bar. It works well but then the mouse over goes away, it has erased the vertical lines. I cannot figure that one out either. The site is on the web in a testing capacity (not completed or in final location of course if you want to view the source: http://rockyedge.com/map/) <--- NOT spam, just my janky work in progress. Final site will not even be open to the public.
