Went to the page, submitted some code which had round bold bullets and it sent back Latin accented characters. I would prefer Number Displayed Entites. It did find the errors I injected into the code and sent back the proper code. My I suggest adding abit of code to click which copies/highlights the code. If you me by the code which is produced - it does come out numbered, but if I remember right it didn't coorespond to my original code, which made it harder for me to check both files. You might want to explain more or give a warning about the Document Declaration Type as some people might be coding for some thing different. You know the nature of people...
I added the auto highlight you just clink in the textarea and tell what standard the code is repaired to. Thanks Dave for as always the good input. I am going to do a post as a tutorial with the code to create a script like this one.
Ok Ishkey I fried my brain but I finally got the script to output a copy of the html that was submitted in a numbered list. http://www.bmcoll.com/pagetest. Do you think I should package this as a script that can be downloaded for others to use? The only other problem is the copy to clipboard function wont work in google chrome and my javascript skills are not up to the task of fixing that.
ok guys I added one more thing. you can now enter a url in the form box and get the repaired html or paste your html into a form and get it also the box with your original html is now numbered for ease in seeing the errors. My Opinion Maybe you can put a couple of the link on top at the botton just to give the links on top some space maybe these links example: contact ,terms, privacy and a couple others, Great site!
Thanks always love positive feedback. I am working on a google pagerank tool but it may take some time to figure out the code. I made the header image a little smaller and floated the google ad to the right. See if that looks better please.
I tried the code correction can't believe the errors (or warnings) I got, but the script was correct good job - don't package it yet, leave it as an online tool (you may want to package it later with other tools) - Very similar to HTML Tidy (the online version) - don't know which I like better - If you put together an HTML code checker, CSS code checker, and a script corrector, along with a web page analyzer, you would have a tremendous package (all online of course). - hope this helps falcon
