Using pspX and I just can not get a reflection to show below the box. I know it has to be easy. I tried a few tutorials, but I am just not getting it. Could someone possibly tell me how or walk me through it or point me to a good tutorial which will hold my hand. I have gotten this far.
Great box. You're getting mighty good at this graphic stuff! As for relections, try these quick directions: (had to take out the curve from the bottom of the side panel) ** On flat bottomed objects, there's no need to separate copied layers**
ok - i'm working on it. slowly it seems to be coming together. I at first missed "copy merged" so all the text was left behind. Soft Brush ??? would that mean a lower opacity? This is still going to take awhile. Thanks for all your guildence. There is so much to this graphic stuff... I don't know how you do it.
touche' with the coding. A soft brush is basically a round paint brush that has blurry edgings. Sorry Dave, I can't remember the equivalent term or tool for psp. Another way to do it would be a 'feathered' selection -as below in psp7 On my psp7 a good setting for the eraser would be: Shape: Round Size: around 120 (or whatever suits) Hardness: 0 Opacity: 10 Step: 25 Density: 100 Now all you have to work out is how to enter those settings into your PSPX
Got it - Thank you. My wife is telling me we have to go. I'll be back on later. Again thanks. Really "I don't know how you Do It" back in my days of cad we had to use xyz cords to place everything. Maybe I'm just not use to the terminology.
I do not understand the hardness and step. Messed around but still do not see it. Do you think the reflection is to light? That transform is really something - It merits more fun.
No, it's not too light at all. It would only need to be altered if it were on a dark background. When I first started in psp I learned a lot from doing pinoy's tutorials http://www.pinoy7.com/psptutorials/photomanipulation.shtml this might explain the feathering thing better: http://www.pinoy7.com/psptutorials/7/3dchrome/p1.shtml some interesting psp tutorials here: http://www.paintshopblog.com/category/psp-tutorials/ Just a tiny nitpick on your box reflection, try to keep the reflected picture aligned with the original.
thanks I will study them. the angle was me tring to shift the reflection, but i think I forgot the short side. to much fun playing with a new toy.
What I really love about this graphic stuff is making something from nothing and it turns out looking realistic. After many years I'm still searching for a tutorial on creating the ultimate in realistically looking 'glass'. For the time being though, I really like playing around with effective shadowing and reflections. I followed this fantastic tutorial http://alfoart.com/vip_pass_1.html yesterday and ended up with the pic below. (The angle of the reflection is slightly off as its supposed to be leaning back a bit.)
