I just love to play games on my personal computer. Somebody have said be to use CD/DVD emulation software for playing games. I have searched on the internet about CD/DVD emulation software, but I am not getting any clear idea about CD/DVD emulation software. Can anybody give a clear idea about CD/DVD emulation software and also suggest some good CD/DVD emulation software for me to use. If it is possible give a detailed description about CD/DVD emulation software.
CD emulation software let you load CD images (mostly in ISO format) These ISO files are mostly the files you can download from warez sites. Programs like DAEMON Tools are very powerfull
Olaf has it mostly right however I wanted to point out that there are legitamate uses for CD emulation softwares (DAEMON, Alcohol 120, Magic ISO, Power ISO, to name a few) Especially for gamers. Now a days this isnt as much of an issue but in the past when you played games a portion of the data was kept on the game CD, thus when playing the game would have to stop to read the data from the CD during loading screens. Many modern games store the game data on the hard drives instead of the CD. But any game that is reading from the CD drive can be sped up by storing a vitrual image of the CD on the local hard drive which has faster read times than most CD drives. Hope that wasnt too hard to read
