    Hi all,

I have just come across this thread on the internet and, like someone had previously posted, it seems too good to be true!!

I have been trying without much success to design a new club badge for a Sunday football team I set-up last year. I really need a good design as soon as possible as the pub who sponsors us has just said they are willing to fork-out for a whole set of tracksuits for the club!

Here are some details I hope will help.

    1) Team Name: Marble Hill Park F.C

    2) Team Colours: Red and White

3)any chance you could include a very small meerkat somewhere on the badge - maybe peering from behind a football or something - (we once toyed with the idea of being called The Meerkats until the pub nearly refused to sponsor us if we did)

    4) If possible it would be great to have the team name on the badge and also EST. 2009.

    5) we play our games at Marble Hill Park which is known for Marble Hill House which might look good on the badge if possible. I have included a link to an image of the house http://www.historyworld.net/placesinhistory/img/TwickenhamMarbleHill200.jpg

    6) as for its general design Im not too fussed. Maybe other than red and white, the use of gold might be good somewhere (maybe the team name?)

I know Ive thrown quite a few things at you here. I hope it helps. I would be happy with anything you could come up with!?!?

    Many Thanks,

    ---apologies---

I just read the Do's and Dont's section for the forum regarding club badge requests!! Please find below the answers to the questions I should have listed in my first post to this thread....

    1) What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
Marble Hill Park F.C (this to be most prominent in the design)
EST. 2009 (this to be put somewhere small on the badge

    2) What is your website address (ex: http://site.com ; Site Name)?
we don't have a club website

    3) Description of your website or business:
Community Sunday League Football team based in south west London

    4) Have you found any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey
the style you are looking for?

Ok, first of all, we play in Marble Hill Park which is famous for Marble Hill House. This may look good on the badge somewhere. I have included a URL to an image of the house: http://www.historyworld.net/placesinhistory/img/TwickenhamMarbleHill200.jpg
Either post small images of the logo designs (please keep any posted graphics under 600 x 600 pixels) or the URL of where the image/s can be found.

Secondly, we would like a small meerkat somewhere on the badge - maybe peering behind a football - (we were going to be called The Meerkats until our sponsor nearly pulled out if we did) I have included a URL of a Meerkat which may look good on the badge: http://www.eclectech.co.uk/b3ta/2006-07meerkat1.jpg

Thirdly, as we are a Football team, a picture of a classic style football may look good. I have included a URL of an image I like: http://comeheretome.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/old-football-2.jpg

I also like the use of the classic style football on the Barcelona badge: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_EwiXq7nKb...AChQ/y5Ls2xbxwM0/s1600/fc-barcelona-crest.jpg

    5) Requested size of your logo:
Primarily I need the logo to send to the kit manufacturers who will embroider it onto the club tracksuits and any future kit. I would also like to use the logo in the future for use on a website.

    6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)

Ok, the images posted above were found after doing a quick Google search. I have now gone onto Flickr and searched for some images using the Creative Commons filter and further filtering for images which allow for commercial use (although I wont be doing that) and ones which are allowed to be modified.

    One of a Meerkat: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2361/2523248261_f9e993baf1.jpg
    - I like this image because the meerkat is standing up and you can see - at least the top - of his arms. On the badge I wouldnt mind if the meerkat was black and white on the badge in a sketched almost clip-art style

One of Marble Hill House: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3049/2796678540_f46d515586.jpg
    - I like this image because it is a simple straight on view of Marble Hill House. Again, as above, I wouldnt mind if this was black and white on the badge in a sketched almost clip-art style

One of a classic looking football (different from above): http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2277/2501313014_808258a76b.jpg
    - the original image I posted under Question 4) is one of a football I would like. If this couldn't be done then this one here would do. Again, as above, I wouldnt mind if this was black and white on the badge in a sketched almost clip-art style

    7) What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?

I like the Barcelona club badge for its design of the shape of the crest, its use of a gold colour, the positioning of the club name in the middle (though this may not be possible as our club name is so long - but you could shorten it to MHPFC), and its use of small compartments within the badge, especially the one displaying the classic looking football: http://www.perfecttravelblog.com/desktop/fc-barcelona-crest.jpg

I like the Liverpool badge for the use of the ribbon effect at the bottom displaying the year in which the club was founded: http://soccerlens.com/files//var/www/html/so/soccerlens.com/files/2008/02/liverpool-fc-crest.jpg

I like this Derry City Football Clib badge for its use of the classic football image and the image of a building at the top. I also like the red and white and colouring and the fact that the badge includes quite a lot e.g. team name, EST, two main images, yet the badge doesn't look too complicated: http://watersiders.webs.com/CREST5.JPG

I like the Roma badge for its simplicity and its use of an animal image in black and white: http://www.chalifoux.ca/asroma/images/AS_Roma.png

    8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
We play in Red and White so I would like these to be the main colours. I would also like the use of Gold in the outline of the crest of for the writing. Alternatively, black for the writing would be good

    9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
    open too suggestions!

    10) Describe the target audience for your logo
The logo is purely meant for the club and will be seen by its players and opponents so nothing too over the top and 'in your face'.

    11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
    simplicity, history

    12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
The logo for immediate purposes will be used for club tracksuits. I need to send the logo to the kit manufacturer who will embroider them onto each tracksuit.

In the future, the logo will be used for kits and for a club website.

    13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?

    14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
For font types you can look here daFont or one of the many Font Websites available.

Id quite like something simple. Maybe like this one taken from daFont: Motor Oil 1937 M54 Motor Oil 1937 M54 Font | dafont.com

I hope that all helps guys....Thanks!!!!!!

Hmm, my post disappeared, or maybe I pressed cancel.

    Anyways..
Here's what I've come up with after reading through your request. Couldn't do all that much with the house and meerkat pics but better than nothing at all.

    Hi CP,

This is fantastic! If possible sould you drop the Meerkat and the two section above the MHPFC, and include gold on the perimeter of the badge - perhaps replacing the black border with a gold one or the next inner red border with a gold one instead. Could you also include EST.2009 somewhere on the badge too?

(if its not too cheeky of me to ask.....could you also try turning the MHPFC font colour to black and turn the white background upon which it is placed - and which runs around the badge - to Gold??)

Cheers CP, really happy with what you have provided

Apart from adding a gold outline, what will fill the hole left by the missing meerkat?

    Yeh sorry CP,

Maybe a Wreath would look good in the the space where the House and Meerkat once were (with the white dividing line between these two sections taken away. At the top of the wreath could be 2009. Here is a link to the Udinese Club crest which uses a wreath: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f2/Udinese_calcio.png

Alternatively, perhaps using the wreath from the Udinese badge with 2009 at the top (all in gold) and then having a circular badge within this with a red background with white stars and a gold MHPFC in the middle. Just as the stars and club initials are used in this badge http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/06/Boca_Juniors_logo.png

    Cheers CP
