Hello! Me and a couple of friends, are starting a website ( the first of a few, or at least, we hope so) and we need a logo. The site is hittingMLB.com , and the logo is intended to go on the top right frame. We are thinking on a small image to replace that green thing on the top left as well, but that would be to much work i think. The colours on the site are not going to change, dark with some strange green. The site is about an american sport, baseball, and will deal with news and reports from the games, and a private service later on. one logo that we really loved, is on this one. The second on the top right. The font is great, and the mirror effect gives it a really nice touch. Or something different, directly related with the Sport in question, like a baseball bat hitting a ball with the letters MLB on it, and "hitting" just static on the side. The logo is going to be used just on the web, so a low resolution will be just fine. We don't have any preference on colours, as long as it blend well with the rest of the website. Thank you for any kind of help that you guys can give.
hittingMLB While your waiting for one of our Graphics People to respond try The Introduce Yourself Forum and as a way of giving back to the community in return, take a roam around the forum and see if you can find other members looking for some help with various questions and/or problems. Thanks
Hey mate Looking at your request I didn't really think I could do it but I gave it a shot anyway keeping in mind your description... Not quite sure if it's what you wanted also not sure about the baseball bat lol I couldn't get the effect but here it is anyway Let me know what you think Thanks
So that's the colours..I couldn't see the template because of some problem on my side but great design though
Thank you very much for your time and fast reply s guys. genuinegraphics.co.uk, the image looks cool, but it would hardly fit on the colours scheme of the template. It's kinda what we are looking for, but not quite yet. Maybe with the bat on the other side, and with a more realistic ball ishkey, your idea is something a bit different of what we had in mind, but it looks really good and made us change or mind a bit from the initial idea. Maybe without the circle, i don't really think it fits there, and with some fancy font on the "MLB", and i think it would look great! Thank you again guys
Here's a suggestion picture babe Ruth getting ready to hit his most amazing home run... What about the close up image of a wooden bat getting reeady to smack the threads off a ball. A image so crisp you can see the grains in the wooden bat that has been used a zillion times and the image of the leather starting to peel off the ball close to the worn red stiching on with the faded words hitting on the bat and bold letters MLB on the baseball.... Just a suggestion.
sounds good blnorman and to get you started here are two links to super software you can use both are open source and free plus you can use them in your photo biz. Inkscape An Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format. Inkscape supports many advanced SVG features (markers, clones, alpha blending, etc.) and great care is taken in designing a streamlined interface. It is very easy to edit nodes, perform complex path operations, trace bitmaps and much more. We also aim to maintain a thriving user and developer community by using open, community-oriented development. GIMP GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc. GIMP is expandable and extensible. It is designed to be augmented with plug-ins and extensions to do just about anything. The advanced scripting interface allows everything from the simplest task to the most complex image manipulation procedures to be easily scripted. Can't wait to see the Graphic.
Sure right after my server finishes doing it's morning thing, which will be in about 2 hours, that's where the files reside. But in the mean time, it looks like when your site loads up that the green line thing I made the ones above from is a separate file. So in what format do you need it in and what size?
its a .png file, it's here http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/7462/headerimgb.jpg Well, the format is .png so i can easilly work with them on the website. The size will be around 150x100 px for the frames around the website, and for the image on the top, i think you already got those, but anyway 390x266 px Is it possible to have format where i can edit the logo easily? like, if i wanna paste the logo on a diferent background or so. thank you.
Took longer than I thought to clean up my server, anyway I have attached a zip file. In it you will find two jpg files and 3 png files. The png should allow you to overlay the graphics. The main file for the header is named headerimg2.jpg rename your original and then rename this one to headerimg.jpg and upload it, should work.
