Hi, I'm new to this site and I just downloaded a free web template for a web page and I'm already baffled! I am used to putting regular HTML codes in my web pages-- But I have no IDEA what to do with the "downloaded" templates...How do I get it all one page?? I have the files unzipped already my problem is just getting it on my page. I am using bravenet.com as my web host. I tried downloading all the different files onto my host, but i dont know how to put it all together...It just goes on as a separate file! Is there someone who can fill me in on how to do this? As you can probably tell, I'm not that computer-smart...although I know a little HTML..is there anyway to avoid downloading at all and just get these templates in HTML? That's something I can easily understand. If not, someone please let me know how I'm supposed to get the layout on my page! Thanks SO much!!! -kari
is all u do... is use a FTP server and upload your files from a program like "dreamweaver" onto the internet With your ftp hostname and password and IP addreess setup. If you dont have a FTP server and your web host has a broswer server Because it is a broswer server -> you have to make sure your homepage file name is "Index.html" so the webhost can notice that this is were people are sent to when they type "www.Yourname.com" use the option they give you on there website to upload your files onto the webhost data server to be stored. and then type your URL on your internet explorer an your finished. As simple as that
To answer that question you actually need to talk to your host, you need to find out first if you even are able to use FTP, if so then you need to download something like Smart FTP. You'll get used to it and most people can usually find out how to do it them selves but if you have questions you can contact either your web host or me ( connorkasaitis@gmail.com )
