Hi everyone! I'm in the process of building an online social skills site at www.improveyoursocialskills.com. One big problem has been my logo; I don't have graphic design experience so my logo is not so good. I recently changed the background color of my site and I don't even have the means to change the background of the logo. I am not really a graphic design wizard :(

So I was hoping that you guys could help me out :)

If you wanted to do a quick 90 second project, changing the background color of the logo from deep blue to the same color (#4879A1) as the rest of the site would be a help.

If you wanted to do a slightly more involved project, I would love to see the logo improved by coloring the speech bubble something snazzy (I'm partial to black and red, personally, but I don't really have an eye for color)

And if you wanted a significantly more involved project, I'd be happy to see the logo completely redone. It's...adequate right now but it's not that good. I like the concept of including a speech bubble as part of the logo, but I'm really very open on possible ideas. So the sky's the limit :) You should also note that I can center the logo on the top of the page, in case that matters.

    Thanks everyone!
Also, I'm going to post the site for review in a few days once I finalize a few tweaks, but if you have feedback on the site in general or the content of the guide, go ahead and let me know. I'm happy to improve any way I can.

Here's a different slant for you to consider; please don't forget to giving back to the forum as per sticky post

    Hi guys,

Thanks so much for your help! I will be back to this site soon to offer some website critiques.

I updated my site with Tristan's tweaked version. I tried the new version Tristan made and the version that 1970 Forest made, but I think they are too tall; I want the screen space to be monopolized by the text, not the logo.

However, I think the site might look too plain now. Because I couldn't get the text in the tagline to line up with the logo text, I removed the tagline. But now there is pretty much just text and blue. I'm not sure that that is the best look. Do you guys have suggestions?

I kind of like the look used by the author of A Living Oak Growing in Christ, who is using the same theme as me. He has a picture of an oak growing up from the top of his navigation bar, which looks very good. Should I consider something like that? Maybe silhouettes of people interacting or something?

Also, Tristan, what font did you use for the logo? I might add the tagline back in, but just have it be a part of the image (I can do that in MS paint so I don't need to bother anyone for help :)

  5. For the second one I used Neuropolitical (from dafont)
I only changed the font in the speech bubble with the other one... I used Arabic Transparent Bold (probably just called Arabic Transparent in MsPaint)

  6. How about this one :)
